This is the Swiss page of bluesyou.com, the website of the European Blues Union (EBU). The EBU is an alliance of blues professionals from across Europe who decided to join their efforts in promoting blues by forming a European network. As you might have seen, every country has it's own site dealing with the particular information related to the country.
The goal of the website is to present the blues activitites in Switzerland to Swiss people as well as visitors. This site is beeing gradually filled with information during the next months. The site is maintained by the same people running also the Swiss Blues Portal bluesnews.ch. where you get information on the Swiss Bluesscene and the latest news about blues in Switzerland.

Winner of The 1st Swiss Blues Challenge

Marco Marchi & The Mojo Workers selected
On Thursday, September 297th the final of the Swiss Blues Challenge has taken place in Geneva, Brasseur des Grottes. Four Bands have been selected from 17 candidates but 1 band has withdrawn its participation. The Jury has choosen Marco Marchi & The Mojo Workers to be the winner of the contest and to represent Switzerland on the next EBC in Berlin in March 2012.

Announcement of the Finalists
The Swiss Blues Challenge is a contest organised for the first time this year in Switzerland by “Swiss Blues" to select bands to represent Switzerland in international contests such as the EBC (European Blues Challenge) organized in Berlin by the EBU (European Blues Union), and the IBC (International Blues Challenge), organized in Memphis by the Blues Foundation
Final of the 1st Swiss Blues Challenge 2011
3 finalists have been selected by a Jury, having listened to at least 4 tracks on CDs submitted by the bands. They will compete in a live performance on September 29, 2011 in Geneva at the Blues Association of Geneva (BAG). Each band shall play for 20 minutes. A Jury will evaluate the performances and determine the winner of the Swiss Blues Challenge.

The 16 bands who have participated in the contest are the three finalists plus: Andy Egert Blues Band, Stefan Imobersteg, Martin Baschung and Big B Tonic, Don P and the Blue Jags, Strong T, Fridolin's Heritage, Mono Blues Band, The Blues Mystery, Blue Spice, Azazel's Blues Earthworms, Nico Brina, Drunken Shrimps and Line 6 Blues Project.

Swissblues established

Swissblues has been established in late August 2011. It coordinates the activities of the Swiss affiliate of the European Blues Union (EBU) in Switzerland. Coordinator is Mr. Silvio Caldelari (details see impressum). Its first task is to organize the Swiss Blues Challenge to nominate the Swiss band that will represent Switzerland on the next European Blues Challenge in March 2012 in Berlin.
