The General Assembly will be held in conjunction with the European Blues Challenge on Saturday March 17, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Berlin Mitte Hotel.

13:00 - 14:00 Lunch (included in Active Member VIP payment)

14:00 - 16:30 Open Market place at the conference room of hotel

The EBU is organizing a so-called "Open Market" blues exhibition. The Open Market is exclusively tailored for all EBU Active Members to present their activities and to meet and greet, informally, other European blues professionals, enthusiasts, fans and friends. We believe that this will give everybody a great opportunity to interact and communicate with other blues freaks, discuss music, make plans of mutual interest etc. The Open Market (as the name indicates) is open for all blues friends and fans to come over to meet each other and the EBU guys. The free stand space is reserved for only EBU Active Members.

European Blues Union General Assembly

2011-08-18 01:00 by European Blues Union

Kulturbrauerei - Berlin (DE), March 19, 2011

After the first three meetings in Parma (IT) in 2008, Notodden (NO) in 2009 and Hondarribia (ES) in 2010, it's in Berlin (DE) that EBU members from 16 European countries and IBC's Executive Director, Jay Sielman, came together to attend the EBU's first General Assembly. The first European Blues Challenge was spread over two evenings at the Kulturbrauerei and the General Assembly held on Saturday was the chance for over 70 EBU members (musicians, record labels, producers, media, etc.) to get together to think about and work on ways to promote Blues music in Europe and the rest of the world. Some of the important events announced during the day were the presentation of a new complex/museum dedicated to Blues to be opened in Notodden as well as the EBU's new interactive website with fantastic graphics.

This General Assembly was in keeping with the course of action established by the Blues Foundation, 'Keeping The Blues Alive' by suggesting and then setting the date of the next assembly for the same time next year, during the second European Blues Challenge held again in Berlin, before being taken to other European countries to ensure that the Blues is kept alive in all the countries members of the EBU.
