W radiu eM (107,6 Katowice lub www.radioem.pl) 4 lutego na żywo ogłoszono wyniki ankiety Blues Top 2011 kwartalnika "Twój Blues". Koncert laureatów – Gala Blues Top 2011 odbędzie się 21 kwietnia o godzinie 18.00 w chorzowskim Teatrze Rozrywki. Gościem specjalnym Gali będzie projekt Earl Thomas with Paddy Milner & the Big Sounds.

Zaprezentuje się już w marcu przed polską publicznością. Our representative for the European Blues Challenge

The subscribers of TWOJ BLUES QUARTERLY have voted for the band which will represent Poland at the second European Blues Challenge organized by the European Blues Union in Berlin on March 16/17 2012. The winner is Slawek Wierzcholski and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa. Other contestants come from Austria, Belgium (Lightnin’ Guy & The Mighty Gators), Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France (Roland Tchakounte), Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands (John F. Klaver Band), Norway (Rita Engedalen), Slovakia (Bena & Ptaszek), Sweden and Switzerland (Marco Marchi & the Mojo Workers). The names of the remaining participants will be announced as soon as the are determined. The award in the contest consists of invitations to perform at the most important blues festivals in Europe (among others: Notodden, Lucerne, Blues Sur Seine, Cognac, Hondarribia, Bellinzona). Moreover, all contestants may be invited to other festivals in Europe. The winners of the EBC 2011 are: Meena from Austria (we remember her from her performance at the Olsztynskie Noce Bluesowe 2010), Howlin’ Bill from Belgium (is bound to perform at this year’s Jesien z Bluesem) and the Boogie Boys who were afterwards booked to play at many festivals, including Cahors Blues Festival, Blues Sur Seine and Notodden. We'll keep our fingers crossed for is Slawek Wierzcholski and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa in Berlin!

EUROPEAN BLUES CHALLENGE
The polish participant in the EBU is being selected in several steps:
1. we announced the conditions of the contest, asking acts to declare their willingness to participate
2. acts were signing up
3. a list of acts who signed up was presented to contributors and subscribers of "Twój Blues" magazine along with especially prepared voting sheets (numbered)
4. currently, we're waiting for the votes to come in. The act that gets the most votes will be announced on Oct. 15th, and will be the Polish participant in the contest.
TWÓJ BLUES uhonorowany prestiżową nagrodą "KEEPING THE BLUES ALIVE"

Kwartalnik "Twój Blues" jest pierwszym polskim zdobywcą prestiżowej nagrody "Keeping the Blues Alive"(www.blues.org). Blues Fundation przyznaje osobom i instytucjom, które najbardziej przyczyniają się do "podtrzymania przy życiu" oraz rozwoju muzyki i kultury bluesowej. "Twój Blues" jest zaledwie szóstym europejskim czasopismem, któremu w 30-letniej historii istnienia tej nagrody została ona przyznana. Nagrody "Keeping the Blues Alive" utworzono w 1980 roku jako uzupełnienie "Blues Music Awards" zwanych potocznie "bluesowymi Oscarami". Chociaż w przypadku obydwu wyróżnień nagrodę stanowi ta sama statuetka (postać bluesmana z gitarą), "Keeping the Blues Alive" otrzymują nie muzycy bluesowi, ale dziennikarze, edukatorzy i promotorzy zajmujący się tym gatunkiem muzycznym. .
